Aussie's going overseas - you can get a refund on the GST to save youself almost 10% more on your order. How good it that!
The TRS enables you to claim a refund, subject to certain conditions, of the GST that you've paid on your order.
The GST refund is calculated by dividing the total amount of the purchase by 11. For example, if you buy a snowboard, bindings, boots and bag for a GST-inclusive price of $1100 you will receive a refund of $100.
To claim a refund you must:
- Spend $300 (GST inclusive) or more in the one order, not including the delivery charge. Individual items can cost less than $300, but the total of the invoice must add up to $300 or more.
- Buy goods no more than 30 days before departure.
- Request a "Tax Invoice" from us. This is different to the regular packing invoice you receive with your delivery.
- For large items - have them sighted by the Australian Customs office at the airport prior to checking them in as luggage; then present your original tax invoice, passport and international boarding pass to a Customs Officer at the TRS counter.
- For small items - wear or carry the goods on board the aircraft or ship and present them along with your original tax invoice, passport and international boarding pass to a Customs Officer at the TRS counter.
The TRS is open to overseas visitors and Australian residents, but only on orders we've delivered to an Australian delivery address.
Orders we deliver to international destinations do not include GST. We have already deducted this and used it to subsidise the cost of your international shipping.
