How come your prices are so cheap?
A few simple reasons: We keep our operating costs to a minimum; We are not greedy and operate on a high volume / low margin model; And most importantly, we have exclusive relationships with many of the top international manufacturer's and distributors worldwide who provide us access to very special wholesale deals. All this combined enables us to pass on massively discounted deals to you with prices that are often below wholesale cost for your regular local snowboard store.
Is the gear brand new?
Yes, everything is 100% brand new, 100% genuine, covered by warranty. Top brands like: GNU, LIB Tech, Salomon, Scott, Rossignol, K2, Burton, Lamar, Flow, Force, Ocean & Earth, LTD, Sims, Spy, Smiths, Indigo etc, it's all the real thing, only through us you'll get it much cheaper than at any regular snowboard / ski store. We guarantee it!
Do you have a store where I can look at the gear?
No we don't. We have an administration office located in the the center of Melbourne city on Collins Street, and you're welcome to telephone us anytime, but Discount Snowboards is 100% web based. This is a big reason as to why we can offer such heavily discounted prices as we don't have to deal with the issues and restrictions of a retail store.
You're out of stock of an item I wanted. Will you get more?
Our stocks are limited and often sell out quickly. In most cases we are only able to get a certain quantity of any given item due to the special way we source gear. Once it's sold out, that's it and we are usually unable to get more of the same thing again. The best advice is if you see something you really want, jump on it fast as it will not be available indefinitely.
What happens if I order gear and it doesn't fit?
Not a problem! All sales are covered by a 14 day no hassle exchange policy. Just contact our office via e-mail to get a Return Authorization Number and arrange shipping details. Then pop it back into the post within 14 days of receiving your order, and we'll swap it over to a larger/smaller size as per your requirements. For snowboards, if you are unsure about your correct board size, please be sure to contact us for advice before placing your order - it is quite expensive to ship snowboards unnecessarily.
Who pays for the shipping on product/size exchanges?
The customer is responsible for all shipping costs. Return shipping costs are payable at time of being issued with a Return Authorization Number.
How do I know what size boots to order without trying them on?
Boot sizes are pretty standard. The best guide to use is the US size of your runners (Nike, Asics, Brooks, Adidas etc). Most people get the correct size first time, but if after receiving your boots you realize you need a smaller/larger size, no dramas - just pop them back in the post to us within 14 days and we'll send you out a different pair.
Is my purchase covered under warranty?
Yes, everything is covered by a 12 month warranty, unless otherwise stated. For most items, the warranty is provided by Discount Snowboards, not the official brand owner or local distributor. For items to be assessed for a warranty claim, they must be returned to Discount Snowboards so they can be assessed. Shipping arrangements and all shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
How long will it take for me to receive my order?

I don't have a Credit Card, so is there any other way I can order?
You have the choice of paying by Direct Bank Deposit or Credit Card (VISA or Mastercard). Just select which method you'd like to pay by on the checkout screen once you have selected your gear.
Can I get any further discounts if buying board, boots & bindings etc?
Our prices are are extremely sharp already, so we can't offer you any further discount for ordering more than one item. However, from time to time we offer even further discounts and promotions. Best way to remain up to date on these is to join our mailing list. Many of these discounts are exclusively offered to our mailing list members. Customers ordering three (3) of more complete board packages (boards, boots, bindings, bags & accessories) in the one order can contact us to receive a further 10% discount.
Do you offer Layby purchases?
See some gear you like but don't have all the cash right now and don't want to miss out? No worries, we're happy to work out a layby arrangement for you. Usual terms are payment in 3 equal parts over 3 months. Goods are sent to you once your final payment has been received.
Do the bindings come attached to the board?
No, when you order bindings with your board they are boxed separately. However, attaching bindings to a snowboard is a very very easy process that only takes 2-3 minutes and requires no expert knowledge what-so-ever. Set-up instructions are included. All you need is a screwdriver - just remember never to use an electric screwdriver as you don't want to accidentally over-tighten the screws and rip out the thread (but you'd have to really tighten them hard to do this!).
Is Discount Snowboards an official retailer of the brands carried?
We are an official retailer for some of the brands we stock, but not for others. The situation sometimes even varies within the one brand for different items, depending on how the stock was sourced. If you would like to know the situation for a specific item/brand, please check with us. Basically, we parallel import a large amount of our stock directly from the brand owners and official factories overseas, thus avoiding the high mark-ups of the local Australian distributor and being able to provide much better prices to our customers.
Can you help us manufacturer our own board design for a promotion we are running?

Do you sell on a wholesale basis for large orders?
